About Us
Halmos Holdings is a privately held family investment holding company established by Steve Halmos in 1993. Steve and the other principals of the Company make investments in a variety of properties, companies, and funds that efficiently deploy capital and offer attractive rates of return. In simple terms, Halmos Holdings makes investments in people, ideas, and things. Such investments can take the form of real estate, private equity, distressed debt, and other opportunities that offer an attractive rate of return with manageable risk.
Our Strategy
First and foremost, Halmos Holdings invests in people. We believe that people, far more than ideas, drive investment success. Therefore, before we make investments, no matter how compelling the proposed returns or how intriguing the project or idea may appear we must firmly believe in the people behind them.
We take pride in our track record of many successful investments since Halmos Holdings’ inception in 1993. Admittedly, we have missed the mark on occasion. But overall, when we have remained disciplined in our focus on people, not ideas, our success rate has been excellent.

Halmos Holdings and the Steven Halmos Family Foundation are active participants in the betterment of the Ft. Lauderdale community and beyond. Our family office made the lead gift in support of the Madelaine Halmos Academy, a K-5th school that prepares its students for stellar academic careers.
The Halmos family and the Florida Prepaid College Foundation have partnered to create the Opportunity Scholarship program under which every student graduating from the Madelaine Halmos Academy has a fully paid scholarship at any Florida state college or university awaiting their high school graduation.
